They may stumble upon a few unsuspecting guests. B&B's are required to have fire resistence, a sufficient fire escape plan in place, and smoke detectors in each guest room.
Many times people don't take into account the business side of innkeeping. Although every Bed and Breakfast is different you can generally expect a full breakfast of meat and eggs with fresh baked muffins, fresh squeezed juice and fruit. Most B&Bs are generally compliant with their jurisdiction's laws. You can always begin your search by typing in your destination city or town and bed and breakfast into your search engine to get an idea of the options you'll have.
In a private cottage you almost always receive a continental breakfast, left before you arrive. One key piece of advice though is to plan your bed & breakfast travels well in advance.
