But in all the times that my husband and I have stayed at B&Bs, this has never been a real problem. Sometimes, they might have a maid help with room preparation in the morning, but by and large that person is handling everything.
If you've avoided looking at B&Bs as an option because of the cost, think again. They provide easy to navigate websites that help narrow down your choices to the select few you are interested in. In many instances we appreciate what we have back at home more than ever. B&B's are required to have fire resistence, a sufficient fire escape plan in place, and smoke detectors in each guest room.
As you begin to view the properties, you should consider whether the b&b has the following amenities, private bath, temperature control, full or continental breakfast, off-street parking, daily housekeeping and the ever-important factor. Most B&Bs are generally compliant with their jurisdiction's laws. Warmth, coziness and good food aren't the only benefits to staying at a B&B. Bed and Breakfast Inns really are more economical when you consider the entire price of the stay.
But with so many different properties, there are no set rules, so check their website or ask. Most reservation policies require you to cancel your reservation at least several days in advance.
