The innkeeper hosts spend a lot of time with their guests and must be very involved with every facet of daily business operations. Proximity to the center of action is often a plus for many travelers, however, it sometimes comes with a drawback.
Being away from it for a short period of time can make it much more appealing than it was before. Most people don't try to force conversation when it becomes apparent that you'd rather enjoy a quiet meal. The bed and breakfast industry is huge. Many B&Bs have all the amenities important to business travelers, and many will offer a discount for an extended stay. And no B&B has ever had a curfew. I would be very wary of a facility that wasn't proud to show its exterior and at least one photo of the inside of each room.
