Rating Of Bed And Breakfasts

The best bed and breakfasts are small and privately owned. The business may be operated either as a primary occupation or as a secondary source of income. Some inns leave a key in a pre arranged spot to facilitate a late check in.

Innkeepers often plan their day, including shopping for your breakfast foods, around guests arrival times. In most cases, particularly with inns of less than ten rooms, the innkeeper is the only person working at there. Each owner brings their own special skills to the experience. You won't be forced to interact with other guests, nor will you have to sit down with the innkeeper and look at old family photos.

Usually breakfast is served on fine china with silver cutlery, much higher class than disposable plates and cutlery at low priced hotel chains. Many innkeepers have written books on the subject and the availability of information has increased tremendously in recent years. The bed and breakfast industry is huge. B&B's are required to have fire resistence, a sufficient fire escape plan in place, and smoke detectors in each guest room.

I would be very wary of a facility that wasn't proud to show its exterior and at least one photo of the inside of each room. If you are tired of your same old routine why not spice it up a bit and try a B&B. Kitchens and equipment used to serve meals must also be monitored for sanitation. You should arrive on time, or at least call if that's not going to be possible.

This is just a little sample the bed and breakfast experience. So for many guests the choice comes down to continental with privacy or full-breakast served in a dining room.
