For aspiring innkeepers, the dream of owning and operating their own bed and breakfast inn is a primary focus. Some guests are concerned if they don't see the innkeepers when they return from dinner, or sometimes even at check in. When you stay at a Bed and Breakfast you will feel at home.
For many of the more popular B&B's are located in beach and mountain areas, such as Hawaii, New England, and Colorado where daytime recreation and tourism activities are popular. But in all the times that my husband and I have stayed at B&Bs, this has never been a real problem. Guests are mostly unfamiliar with these guidelines and tend to overlook any violations. I would be very wary of a facility that wasn't proud to show its exterior and at least one photo of the inside of each room.
Hopefully it will encourage you to stay at a bed and breakfast in the future and not just an uncomfortable hotel room with noisy neighbors. They provide easy to navigate websites that help narrow down your choices to the select few you are interested in. Sometimes, they might have a maid help with room preparation in the morning, but by and large that person is handling everything. As the name suggests the daily rate of a Bed and Breakfast stay will certainly include the first meal of the day.
You can talk to the innkeeper so that you'll almost sure to be alone if you wabnt your own room. And no B&B has ever had a curfew. Kitchens and equipment used to serve meals must also be monitored for sanitation. Most B&Bs are generally compliant with their jurisdiction's laws.
Once you've picked the bed and breakfast you're interested in, your next step is to make a reservation. In a private cottage you almost always receive a continental breakfast, left before you arrive.
